So What’s the Harp Wah All About?
Well, what it’s NOT about is first – it’s not a replacement for hand cupping. The Harp Wah allows for exaggerated and tonally very different effects than can be achieved with just hand cupping alone. The fact is, that good hand cupping techniques still apply when using this product and to some degree, are necessary to get the most out of the Harp Wah.
The bottom line:
It’s different. It will produce wah sounds with more resonating “honk” effects. You can easily hear the difference in the many videos of this product. This is due to it’s design, shape and construction. It’s made of anodized aluminum (similar to a trumpet mute), large enough and thin enough to maximizes the resonating effect but thick enough to produce the volume required for various playing environments as well as feeling sturdy in the players hands.
